Sri Aurobindo Ashram - Delhi Branch, has a number of units run by the sadhaks. They are:

Meditation Hall: The Ashram has a spacious Meditation Hall. From Monday to Saturday, there is collective Satsang from 7 to 7.30 p.m., spiritual and devotional music and reading from the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. On Sundays, the Satsang is held from 10 a.m. to about 11.15 a.m. and includes a talk on some spiritual theme. The Hall is open all day for those who would like to meditate by themselves.

Lecture Series: Lectures, talks and discourses by sadhaks and exponents of Sri Aurobindo’s Integral Yoga and his great vision of the future are held throughout the year. A Lectures Series is organized during the Birth Anniversary celebration of Sri Aurobindo in August. Check the Calendar of Activites and Study Camps for schedule of lectures.

'Knowledge' Library and reading room : The library has a growing collection of good books and periodicals on yoga, religion, philosophy, literature, education, science, history, geography, health and hygiene. The collection represents 16 Indian and foreign languages.

'SABDA' : (Sri Aurobindo Books Distribution Agency) handles the sale of all Ashram (Pondicherry and Delhi Branch) publications and photographs. It also sells incense, handmade paper and stationery, greeting cards, cassettes of devotional songs and other products. SABDA has now moved to a newer and larger location in the main Reception Block of the Ashram. 


Ashram journals : - Our quarterly journals - Shri Arvind Karmadhara (Hindi) and The Call Beyond (English) - help us in reaching the people of goodwill and getting their collaboration in propagating and applying the teaching of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, for building a better India and a better world. The magazines also provide news about the activities of the Ashram and its institutions.

Matri Free Homeopathic dispensary is open to all from 5 to 8 p.m. daily. It is closed on Sundays.

Mother's Health Centre : An allopathic dispensary caters to the needs of the school children and the residents of the Ashram. Medical check-up of the school children is also carried out by this unit. The dispensary is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily except Sunday. Several Specialty Clinics are also held on different days. Call Dr Baveja at 685 8563 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon for further information and appointment. In addition, several specialty clinics are held regularly. Health center

Alternative healing methods: Yoga and nature cure, acupressure, magneto therapy, eye healing exercises and relaxation techniques are also available. A new Health and Healing block is coming up as a part of the Master Plan of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Delhi Branch. 

Eye camps: Each year an Eye camp is conducted for the economically backward by several volunteer doctors. Patients are provided with free glasses and a large number of free intra-ocular transplants are done.

Matri Service Store caters to the day-to-day needs of the school children and Ashramites and is also open to the public. Provisions and stationery items are available at the store. The products of the Ashram bakery pure mustard oil, ghee, spices, pulses, whole wheat flour, organically grown fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, jam, honey, various health food items, decorative candles, incense etc. can be purchased here.

Ashram Kitchen and Bakery: There is a well-organized kitchen with modern gadgets, where simple nutritious food is cooked under hygienic conditions for the residents and guests and served in the Ashram dining room. We also have an oil mill and a flour and spice mill located within the Ashram. Products from these mills are also available in the Matri Service Store.

The bakery produces high quality brown bread and a variety of health biscuits and cakes without egg.

Fruit Centre: The fruit center functions from June to August every year when fruit from Mountain Paradise, the Ashram Orchard at Ramgarh starts coming in. The fruit is grown without the use of chemicals and pesticides.

Nirmal Washery This unit provides laundry service for residents and guests.
