Alicia K. Gonzales
Alicia K. Gonzales is a director of the Sri Aurobindo Association. She is managing editor of the Integral Yoga journal Collaboration and a member of SAA’s Editorial Advisory Board.
Alicia writes about yoga, philosophy, and spiritual practice in South Asian traditions. She completed a master’s in East-West Psychology—specializing in yoga studies—at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and has conducted research on South Asian culture in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, India. For over a decade she has worked professionally as a writer and editor for universities in addition to publishing and presenting on yoga through a number of general media and scholarly outlets.
Drawing on India’s vast yoga tradition, Alicia practices the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo through the grace and goodness of the Mother, and posts about yoga philosophy, psychology, spirituality, history, politics, and practice on social media @theyogapilgrim. She is especially drawn to Sri Aurobindo’s interpretation of the yogas of the Bhagavad-Gītā as well as his formulations on the posthuman and the evolution of consciousness.
