Lynda Lester
Lynda Lester, president: Lynda edited the Integral Yoga journal Collaboration for 10 years and gives frequent presentations on yoga to groups and centers around the U.S. She helped organize the All USA Meeting (AUM) in 1988, 2008, and 2010; is a support volunteer for AUM 2013; and is a member of the AUM Continuity Committee. She has also served on the board of Auroville International USA. Formerly a writer/editor at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, where she managed print and web communications on scientific computing, Lynda now lives in Lodi, California. There she pursues various writing projects and participates in the extended Integral Yoga community of Lodi and the Bay Area.
John Robert Cornell, SAA secretary
John Robert Cornell, sectretary: John Robert found Home when he met Sri Aurobindo and Mother in 1980 by the grace of a spiritual teacher named Elena DeJoya in California. He made his first pilgrimage to Pondicherry in 1994 with his wife Karen. During later trips he fell in love with Auroville and spent two years living there (2006–2008). He is haunted by light and by the veil of the Divine in the American landscape. His compelling interests are writing, Integral Yoga, and the search for the American soul and the American yoga. He and Karen make their residence in a small town in the California foothills.
Kalpana Patel
Kalpana Patel, treasurer: Kalpana went to school at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education in Pondicherry, India, and has been an active board member of the Sri Aurobindo Association since 1998. She helped organize AUM 1998 in Aptos, California, and was a principal organizer of AUM 2001 in Redwood City, California. She has also hosted a weekly Sri Aurobindo study group and been a regular participant in monthly retreats at Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham. Kalpana lives in San Jose, where she works as office manager at Tata Elxsi Limited.
Margaret Phanes
Margaret Astrid Phanes, director: Margaret came to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother through a psycho-spiritual meditation and process group lead by Dr. Carl Peters. She has offered classes based on Integral Yoga at the College of Botanical Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, California, and the University of Hawaii, Maui College. She has also facilitated courses in the Orientation Programme at the University of Tomorrow and taught at the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Advanced Research. Her artwork has been published in Collaboration and New Race: A Journal of Integral Studies, and her digital media presentations were offered at the All USA Meeting (AUM) in 2007 and 2011. Margaret and her husband Jim Page moved from Maui to Lodi, California, to participate in the collective yoga at Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham.
Angelo Salerno
Angelo Salerno, director: Angelo is a resident member of Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham (SASP), a center for the Integral Yoga in Lodi, California. Having joined in 2003, he currently serves SASP as vice president. He is also vice president of Auromere, a for-profit business specializing in imported ayurvedic body care products from India, which helps to sustain the SASP community. Apart from his work responsibilities, he also enjoys writing and music.
