AUM Presenter:
Deepshika Reddy

Deepshika Reddy has been a teacher most of her life, and in fact was given this occupation by the Mother. After receiving her degree in Delhi, she served in Auroville as a teacher for eight years. She then served as a headmistress of two high schools in Hyderabad and one in Pondicherry before taking up work in the Physical Education Department of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. She enjoys painting, singing, sewing, and especially reading in philosophy.

A poem by Deepshika:

Deep     breaths

Lovely limbs lurking leisurely

Behind the brown butterfly bush

Kept kissing the kindred wind...

Fallow feelings of futility followed me
These thoughts like thick throb on my throat
Suffocated and sucked away my sap of life.

A lovely smile from heavenly blue
Released the burden of my soul:
Like a seagull floating in the air,
My soul rested on wings of Love,
Pouring itself out in songs of a nightingale:
Every rhythmic beat a seraphic note
Transparent with hues of ecstasy and union.

I don't know what I want
I know what She wants
Yet, I don't know what I want!

I plan for myself
She plans for me
I plan out Her plan.
