Lynda Lester graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a bachelor of science degree in education. Shortly after hearing a talk on Integral Yoga, she visited the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville. She spent six years studying Integral Yoga in various U.S. cities, and lived for a short time at Matagiri (a Sri Aurobindo center near Woodstock, NY) and at Sri Aurobindo's Action Center in Boulder.

Lynda edited Collaboration, a journal of Integral Yoga, for ten years. She is currently president of the Sri Aurobindo Association and a member of the All USA Meeting (AUM) Continuity Committee. She co-organized AUM 1988 and AUM 2008 and is also helping to organize AUM 2011. She was a moderator of the Integral Yoga Forum, an online discussion group, for four years and also served on the board of Auroville International USA.

Lynda has given numerous presentations on yoga and consciousness to groups around the U.S., including the California Institute for Integral Studies, the Cultural Integration Fellowship, the Institute for Noetic Sciences, the Los Angeles Sri Aurobindo Center, Sri Aurobindo Sadhana Peetham, Savitri House, the Southwest Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association, and eight AUM conferences.

Lynda was an editor, technical writer, journalist, and photographer for 16 years at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, where she managed print and web communications on scientific computing, high-performance networking, and applied mathematics. Before that she was a technical writer at Ball Aerospace. She now lives in Lodi, California where she pursues various writing projects and participates in the extended Integral Yoga community of Lodi and the San Francisco Bay Area.
